Russian, Kazakh presidents to discuss multifaceted cooperation in Astana
Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived on a visit to Kazakhstan's capital Astana.
Putin is waiting for a busy work programme. It is planned to sign documents in a narrow and enlarged composition in the state residence "Akorda" after talks with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, TASS reports.
The Kremlin materials note that the agenda will include prospects for bilateral cooperation and topical international issues. At the end of the meeting, the leaders will make statements to the media.
A separate item on the programme is Putin and Tokayev's participation in the plenary session of the XIX Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan (they will speak via videoconference). The forum itself will be held in Kostanai, and its theme is "Agriculture - the basis of a strong economy".
In addition, Tokayev will give an official reception in honor of the Russian leader.
