Russian military prosecutor's office urges court to block UN website
Russia’s 19th military prosecutor's office has demanded to block the websites of the UN and the Turkish Anadolu Agency.
The corresponding lawsuit was filed with the Leninsky District Court of the Vladimir Region of the Russian Federation.
“The lawsuit contains demands to prohibit access to the websites https://news.un.org and https://www.aa.com.tr . The plaintiff is the 19th Military Prosecutor's Office of the Army," the court told TASS.
The department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) for the Vladimir region is the side interested in the lawsuit. The complaint did not mention the substance of the complaint. The trial is scheduled for January 27.
Russia has massively blocked media outlets’ websites, including foreign ones, since the beginning of the “military operation” in Ukraine. The reason is allegedly false information about the course of hostilities.
