Russian president praises strengthening ties with Azerbaijan
Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the strengthening and positive development of relations with Azerbaijan as he met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the Kremlin.
In his remarks, Putin noted that discussions with Aliyev the previous night informally covered the current state of their bilateral relationship, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“I would like to emphasize that our relations are developing positively. We recognized this during our official visit to Azerbaijan,” he stated.
Putin highlighted that trade between the two countries has reached $4.3 billion, with direct Russian investments in Azerbaijan’s economy exceeding $4 billion.
“There are numerous promising projects underway in both the energy and infrastructure sectors. All of these initiatives are tangible and represent significant bilateral and multilateral cooperation,” he remarked.
He expressed optimism regarding the upcoming summit of CIS heads of state, where there will be opportunities to exchange information and potentially refine collaborative efforts.
