Russian pundit: Azerbaijan's clean knockout victory - unique case in world

The world is delighted with the way Azerbaijan was able to solve the problem that lasted for many decades.

The remarks came from Sergei Markov, director of the Institute of Political Studies, while congratulating the Azerbaijani people on Victory Day – November 8, Azertag reports.

"We congratulate the people of Azerbaijan on the magnificent, brilliant victory in the Second Karabakh War. This is a unique case in the world - a clean knockout victory won by Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan won a complete, one hundred per cent, clean victory. The whole world is delighted with the way Azerbaijan was able to solve a problem that lasted for many decades. Azerbaijan, under the leadership of Ilham Aliyev, has not just regained Karabakh, it has since become a major country in the South Caucasus. This all happened thanks to the labour of the Azerbaijani people and the feat of the Azerbaijani soldier," the expert said.

Speaking about the processions of the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry's personnel in Baku and several other cities of the country including in the liberated territories, Markov noted that it is a parade of winners.

"Karabakh is Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani army is the victorious army. The Azerbaijani people are the victorious people. This feeling of a winner is manifested in other sectors as well, including in the growth of economy, cultural phenomena. You will see it again," he emphasised.
