Saudi military delegation visits Azerbaijan to boost education, training partnerships PHOTO
On January 8, Major General Gunduz Abdulov, Rector of the National Defence University of Azerbaijan, met with a delegation from Saudi Arabia's National Defence University, led by Major General Nayid Atagan al-Mutairi, who is currently visiting Azerbaijan.
The delegation was briefed on the history of the university's establishment, its educational system, and its key areas of operation, Caliber.Az reports per Ministry of Defence.
They were also given detailed insights into the positive outcomes of reforms in Azerbaijan’s military education sector.
The meeting focused on enhancing the exchange of expertise between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia in military education, exploring the potential for joint projects, and discussing other matters of mutual interest.
To recap, the Defence Minister of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, recently met with a military delegation from Saudi Arabia that was on an official visit to Azerbaijan. Colonel General Hasanov welcomed the guests, highlighting the importance of the strong bilateral relations between the two countries, which are always prioritized by President Ilham Aliyev.
During the meeting, the Minister praised Saudi Arabia's participation in the 5th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition (ADEX) held in Baku in September 2024.
He also expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s support in demining efforts in Azerbaijan's liberated territories, noting the tragic loss of 70 lives due to mine explosions post-war.
