Second OTS leaders’ meeting set for Azerbaijan in 2026, prime minister says
Azerbaijan will host the second meeting of the heads of government, and vice presidents of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) member countries in 2026, in a new format, Prime Minister Ali Asadov announced during the 2nd Azerbaijan–Türkiye Investment Forum in Baku.
Highlighting the significance of multilateral cooperation, Asadov underscored that one of the key pillars of Azerbaijan–Türkiye relations is the coordination of activities within international and regional organizations, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
“I would like to particularly emphasize our productive cooperation within the framework of the OTS. During the first meeting of heads of government and vice presidents of OTS member states, held in Bishkek in September, we also discussed prospects for cooperation in priority economic areas such as trade, investment, transport, energy, and agriculture,” he stated.
The Prime Minister confirmed that the second meeting of heads of government and vice presidents in this new format will be held in Azerbaijan in 2026.
He further noted that within the OTS framework, ministerial-level dialogue in the fields of industry, science, technology, and innovation is being steadily strengthened. The first such meeting took place in Istanbul in 2024, followed by the second in Baku in 2025.
Asadov also emphasized the strategic importance of the Turkic Investment Fund, describing it as a vital instrument for supporting joint investment initiatives across the region and expanding available financial mechanisms.
