Serbia’s defence minister set for Azerbaijan visit in late 2026

A visit by Serbia’s Defence Minister Bratislav Gašić to Azerbaijan is expected to take place towards the end of 2026, according to Azerbaijani officials.

Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Serbia, Kamal Huseynov, announced the planned trip at a reception in Belgrade marking Azerbaijan’s Armed Forces Day, according to the Balkan bureau of Report.

Huseynov said that mutual support for sovereignty and territorial integrity remains the foundation of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Serbia. He added that cooperation between the two countries has expanded in defence and military-technical areas.

The ambassador also pointed to the recent visit of Azerbaijan’s defence minister to Belgrade, saying it had contributed to further strengthening bilateral ties.
