Serbian envoy thanks Azerbaijan for evacuating diplomats from Iran

Serbia’s Ambassador to Tehran, Damir Kovacevic, has thanked Azerbaijan for assisting in the evacuation of staff members from the Serbian diplomatic mission in Iran.

According to domestic media, Kovacevic spoke to journalists at the Astara border checkpoint following the evacuation.

“We are truly grateful to brotherly Azerbaijan. I thank all Azerbaijani officials. We were welcomed here very warmly. Our countries share brotherly ties and broad relations, and today we have once again witnessed this,” the ambassador stated.

Five diplomats from Serbia’s embassy in Iran were evacuated from the country to Azerbaijan.
