Shamakhi passes "Turkic World Tourism Capital" title to Turkestan

The final event "Shamakhi: Turkic World Tourism Capital – 2023" has been held in Azerbaijani Shamakhi district.

The event was organized with the support of the State Agency for Tourism and the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), according to Report.

The event was attended by representatives of the structures responsible for tourism from the CIS countries, delegations in the city of Turkestan (Kazakhstan) and Shamakhi district.

As part of the event, the delegation of the city of Turkestan, which was elected the "Tourist Capital of the Turkic World" for 2024, was presented with a symbolic key.

The participants of the event were also told about the tourism potential of Turkestan.

The ancient Azerbaijani city of Shamakhi was chosen as the " Turkic World Tourism Capital" for 2023 at the 7th meeting of the OTS ministers of tourism.
