Azerbaijan allocates over $227 million for reconstruction of liberated lands In Q1 2026
Azerbaijan invested 386.2 million manats (approximately $227.2 million) in the first quarter of 2026 for the reconstruction and restoration of its liberated territories, according to the Ministry of Finance. The amount represents around 11% of the funds planned for the year.
The bulk of the spending—355.2 million manats (nearly $209 million)—was directed toward infrastructure development in the Karabakh economic region and East Zangazur economic region. This included 185 million manats (just under $109 million) allocated for the design, construction, and reconstruction of highways, as well as 142.2 million manats (just over $83.6 million) for new residential complexes. A further 28 million manats (nearly $16.5 million) was invested in tourism infrastructure and related projects, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
In addition, 10.7 million manats (approximately $6.3 million) was spent on healthcare and cultural initiatives, while 20.3 million manats (roughly $12 million) was allocated for mine clearance operations.
The investments form part of Azerbaijan’s broader post-conflict reconstruction efforts aimed at restoring infrastructure, facilitating the return of displaced populations, and supporting long-term economic development in the affected regions.
