Azerbaijan’s State Oil Company (SOCAR) has launched a new business forum aimed at uniting legal and compliance experts from across its domestic and international branches, along with representatives of leading global law firms.
The inaugural “Law and Compliance Forum” was being held in Baku, Caliber.Az reports citing the agency’s statement.
According to the organisers, the event seeks to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise while addressing key legal risks facing the energy sector.
Panel discussions covered a range of topics, including international arbitration disputes, corruption in the global energy industry, and legal challenges in the modern business environment.
Participants emphasised the importance of fostering cooperation to strengthen a shared corporate culture among SOCAR Group companies operating abroad and to enhance their ability to adapt to the rapidly changing global landscape.
The forum underscored SOCAR’s continued commitment to the rule of law, ethical business practices, transparency, and the highest standards of corporate governance, as part of its ongoing effort to promote a strong compliance culture throughout the organisation.
SOCAR intends to hold the Legal and Compliance Forum on an annual basis to further develop its legal and compliance framework.
