Somali minister tours Azerbaijan’s Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park PHOTO
Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ahmed Moallim Fiqi visited Azerbaijan’s Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park on July 27.
During the visit, Elkiyar Ziyadov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijani Economic Zones Development Agency, briefed the guests on Azerbaijan’s industrial zones and the favourable investment opportunities available to entrepreneurs, Caliber.Az reports citing the local media.
The meeting was also attended by Azerbaijani ambassador to Ethiopia Ruslan Nasibov.
During the meeting, participants discussed matters of mutual interest within the industrial sector and highlighted the benefits of the industrial zone model. The visit concluded with a tour of the Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park, where the guests observed the ongoing projects and the operations of the Azerfloat float glass production facility.
Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park was established under the Decree #548 of December 21, 2011 of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The goals of industrial park's establishment are to create favorable conditions in the country for the development of country’s industrial production competitiveness by means of innovative and high technology, to promote and support entrepreneurship, to provide sustainable development of non-oil sector and to increase of industrial employment of the population.
