Some 553 people evacuated from Iran through Azerbaijan Photo/Updated
A total of 553 people have been evacuated from Iran via the Azerbaijani border following military operations launched by the United States and Israel on February 28.
Some 152 Azerbaijani citizens crossed the border between February 28 and 20:00 on March 2, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
In addition, citizens from other countries were also evacuated, including 127 from China, 114 from Russia, 65 from Pakistan, 42 from Tajikistan, 18 from Saudi Arabia, six from the United Arab Emirates, four from Jordan, three each from Qatar and Bangladesh, two each from the Philippines, Nepal, Kazakhstan and France, and one each from Türkiye, Italy, Poland, Tunisia, Lebanon, India, and Brazil.

A total of 370 people have been evacuated from Iran via the Azerbaijani border since the start of the US and Israeli military strikes on Iran on February 28.
In this vein, citizens of 20 foreign countries, as well as 131 Azerbaijani citizens crossed the border between February 28 and 14:00 on March 2, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
In addition, 81 Chinese citizens, 47 Russians, 32 Pakistanis, 18 Saudis, 30 Tajiks, 6 Emiratis, 4 from Jordan, 3 from Qatar, 3 from Bangladesh, 2 from the Philippines, 2 from Nepal, 2 from Kazakhstan, 2 from France, as well as 1 citizen each from Türkiye, Italy, Poland, Tunisia, Lebanon, India, and Brazil were evacuated.
Authorities coordinated the evacuations to ensure the safety of foreign nationals amid ongoing regional tensions.
