State Border chief: Protecting Azerbaijan's borders with Armenia great honour

Azerbaijani State Border Service Head Elchin Guliyev has described as great honour for border guards the protection of national borders with Armenia.

It is a great honour and pride for Azerbaijani heroes-border guards to participate in the liberation of our lands and defend the interests of the state under their flag on the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border, Report quotes Colonel-General Guliyev as saying.

He emphasised that today, against the backdrop of Azerbaijan's growing international authority and the strengthening of the country's economy, border security issues have come to the fore, and our border guards, who protect the state's interests at the border, are proud of the state's attention and care for them.

"President of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev has visited military units and units of the State Border Service more than 40 times, which indicates great attention from the head of state. This is the highest assessment of the activities of the State Border Service," Guliyev said.
