State Department: US continues efforts for Azerbaijan-Armenia peace agreement

The United States continues to play an active role in advancing a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

This ongoing effort was underscored by US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller at a briefing held on July 22, Caliber.Az reports.

Miller noted that both Azerbaijan and Armenia are making notable advancements toward establishing a peace agreement.

He reiterated the United States' commitment to facilitating this process, saying, "Azerbaijan and Armenia continue to make significant progress toward finalizing a peace agreement. We are committed to supporting this process. The time for peace is now, and we continue to work to try to reach an agreement."

Miller's statement confirms the US is steadfast in its efforts to promote peace and stability in the region, and it remains focused on aiding both countries in achieving a lasting and comprehensive peace agreement.

This update follows a key meeting on July 10 during NATO's 75th-anniversary summit, where Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Armenian counterpart discussed the way forward.
