Su-30 fighter jet crashes in Russia, killing both pilots
A Russian Su-30 fighter jet has crashed in the Prionezhsky district of Karelia, resulting in the deaths of both pilots on board, the Ministry of Defence reported to Interfax.
According to the ministry, the crash occurred around 7:00 p.m. Moscow time during a scheduled training flight. The aircraft went down in an unpopulated area and was not carrying any ammunition at the time of the incident.
Emergency services and a commission from the Ministry of Defence have been dispatched to the crash site. Preliminary reports suggest that technical malfunction or pilot error may be among the possible causes, though the exact circumstances of the accident are still under investigation.
