Syria, Azerbaijan discuss housing and reconstruction cooperation

Syria’s Minister of Public Works and Housing, Mustafa Abdel Razzaq, held talks with Elnur Shahhuseynov, chargé d’affaires of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Damascus, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in housing and reconstruction, as well as the challenges facing the sector.

The meeting took place on Wednesday, May 13. During the talks, Abdel Razzaq outlined the ministry’s current areas of work, highlighted obstacles related to the reconstruction process, and detailed the extent of damage across various Syrian provinces, as per SANA.

For his part, the Azerbaijani representative presented Azerbaijan’s successful experience in housing, infrastructure development, and post-conflict reconstruction, with a particular focus on innovative and sustainable solutions.

Both sides agreed to continue discussions during the upcoming visit of a Syrian delegation to Azerbaijan to participate in the 13th World Urban Forum.
