Tajikistan, Azerbaijan discuss expansion of cargo transportation
Ambassador of Tajikistan to Azerbaijan Ilhom Abdurahmon and Azerbaijani Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev have discussed increasing cargo transportation through the Middle Corridor.
During their meeting, the two sides also explored the exchange of expertise in e-government implementation and digital technologies, coordination of regional transport routes, and the resumption of Dushanbe-Baku-Dushanbe flight, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The negotiations also covered the participation of Tajik representatives in the 29th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) conference in Baku this November. The Middle Corridor connects railway container networks transporting goods from China and the European Union through Central Asia, the Caucasus, Türkiye, and Eastern Europe.
This corridor’s transit train delivers cargo from China to Europe in an average of 20-25 days, marking it as one of the key advantages of this transport route.
