Tbilisi condemns Iranian strikes on Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan, pledges solidarity
The Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong condemnation of the recent Iranian drone attacks on the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan.
Tbilisi expressed full solidarity with Baku in an official statement, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“Several civilians were injured during the attack. Any actions that flagrantly violate the principles and norms of international law and escalate tensions in the region are absolutely unacceptable,” the ministry said.
The statement also highlighted the longstanding friendly relations and strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan, reaffirming Tbilisi’s support for the Azerbaijani people amid the ongoing crisis.
Georgia stressed that preserving peace and stability in the region remains a top priority and reiterated its commitment to promoting diplomatic dialogue to reduce tensions.
