Tehran assesses 40-day war as critical test for its diplomacy framework
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that the recent forty-day war was a major test for the country and its diplomatic institutions.
“The recent forty-day war, which in a way is still ongoing, was a very good test. My colleagues and leaders in Tehran, in the ministry building, were all prepared and present, and we tried to be the voice of justice, the defender of the oppressed, and the voice of the Iranian people. After forty days of resistance, it became known worldwide that we had underestimated the Iranian people, the armed forces, and Iran’s leadership structures. None of our diplomats left their positions.
US officials acknowledged that in the diplomatic war, the Iranians were victorious, and our embassies won the information war and public diplomacy.
The arena, diplomacy, media, and streets are the four most important dimensions of the forty-day war. We are all in the same position together; dear Iran has put a uniform on each of us and assigned each of us a task. Our mission is to be the voice of Iran and defend the interests of the people on the international stage.
We do not consider our mission separate from the missions of others and are fully coordinated with the system’s overall goals. We have one goal, and we are moving in the same direction,” Araghchi said at a ceremony marking the 40th day after the death of former Foreign Minister and Chairman of Iran’s Strategic Council on Foreign Relations Kamal Kharrazi, as well as the second anniversary of the death of former Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian.
