Tehran commends Azerbaijan for facilitating Russian humanitarian aid to Iran
Iranian Ambassador to Baku Mojtaba Demirchilou has expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for assisting in the delivery of humanitarian aid from Russia to Iran.
Demirchilou made the remarks to journalists at Lankaran International Airport, where the aid shipment arrived, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“I extend my sincere thanks to the government and people of Russia for this initiative, and to the government and people of Azerbaijan for the support provided,” Demirchilou said.
The ambassador also noted that Azerbaijan had previously sent the first batch of humanitarian aid to Iran, emphasizing that mutual support during times of crisis is part of the shared culture of the region’s peoples.
Russian sources report that over 13 tons of humanitarian cargo, including medicines and medical supplies, have been sent to Iran.
