Think tank chief says Europe shows negative actions toward Azerbaijan
14 May 2026 11:07
Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Board of the Centre of Analysis of International Relations, said that Azerbaijan has recently faced what he described as negative actions from Europe.
He made the statement during a roundtable discussion dedicated to the meeting of President Ilham Aliyev with residents of Zangilan, according to local media.
Shafiyev stressed that the South Caucasus is currently characterised by stability and peace compared to other regions.
“If we look to the North and South, we see wars. In the South Caucasus, however, there is peace. And this has become possible thanks to Azerbaijan,” he said.
Despite this, he added, Azerbaijan continues to receive certain negative signals from European actors.
