Tigran Yeganyan: Armenia fails to control its own destiny and must become a Russian province
"There is no mutual trust. The war has shown that the gap between Armenia and the Diaspora is deeper than ever. We can say that the threads of trust have been cut. There is no strong basis for the establishment of business relations. So far, the links between Armenia and the Diaspora have been based on two spheres - tourism and humanitarian aid. We can also talk about limited investments. Unfortunately, this is not only a problem of the current government, it arose much earlier - before Armenia's independence and the independence movement."
The Armenian political analyst and orientalist Tigran Yeganyan made the due statement, Caliber.Az reports quoting Armenian media.
According to him, foreign Armenian organizations were not ready to accept the creation of an independent Armenian state because they were worried that Armenia, having lost guarantees from Russia, would become a target for Türkiye.
"That is, the main problem was related to the idea of statehood. In general, foreign Armenians have no political thought; their ideas concerning Armenia are very abstract. They lack a normal perception of what it means to have a state. The war proved to us that we are a nation which has no state culture," he said.
According to him, the Armenian Diaspora in France is not interested in socio-political issues and this is all related to the backwardness of the system itself.
According to the expert, Armenia is in a very difficult situation and cannot control its own destiny. There are two options in this situation: Armenia must become a province of Russia, or the Diaspora must make full use of its own potential.
Speaking about the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations, Tigran Yeganyan noted that the Turkish diplomatic school is one of the best in the world, and Armenia only tries to understand what the state and statehood are.
