The joint tactical flight exercise “TurAz Qartalı-2026,” conducted within the framework of military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, is ongoing with continued execution of coordinated operational tasks, the Ministry of Defence reports.
According to the exercise scenario, participating air units are carrying out a range of interoperability-focused missions across multiple operational episodes, aimed at enhancing joint combat readiness and coordination.
During the latest phase, a Sikorsky S-70 helicopter of the Turkish Air Force conducted electronic warfare operations, effectively neutralising ground-based electronic assets attributed to a simulated adversary. Concurrently, a Mi-17 helicopter of the Azerbaijani Air Force performed reconnaissance and strike tasks, successfully identifying and engaging designated simulated targets.
The exercise is designed to strengthen operational compatibility between the air forces of the two countries, improve the professional capabilities of flight and support personnel, and deepen the exchange of tactical and operational experience.
