Turkic Council holds first coordination meeting at OSCE PA in Istanbul
Istanbul hosted the first coordination meeting of Turkic Council (TÜRKPA) representatives within the framework of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA) during its 23rd autumn session.
The meeting brought together leaders and delegation members from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Hungary, and Uzbekistan, alongside representatives of the TÜRKPA International Secretariat, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Discussions focused on strengthening joint cooperation, developing a mechanism for coordinated activities, and drafting a roadmap to serve common interests within the OSCE PA and other international organisations.
The role of the TÜRKPA International Secretariat in facilitating both online and offline coordination was also highlighted, in line with the provisions of the 2008 Istanbul Charter that established the organisation.
Kazakhstan’s proposal for TÜRKPA to obtain observer status in the OSCE PA received unanimous support from all participants, with the meeting concluding on a commitment to take concrete steps to advance this initiative.
