Turkic states' energy chiefs to gather in Türkiye for cooperation talks Critical minerals, rare earths on agenda
Energy ministers from the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) will convene in Türkiye on December 9–10 to strengthen cooperation in the energy sector, TRT reports.
The 5th meeting, held under Türkiye’s chairmanship, will bring together ministers from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, along with observer states Hungary, Turkmenistan, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
The two-day agenda will begin on December 9 with a technical session of the Energy Working Group, followed by the ministers’ meeting on December 10, chaired by Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar.
Delegates are expected to discuss collaboration across a range of areas, including renewable energy, oil and gas, the peaceful use of nuclear energy, and the development of critical minerals and rare earth elements.
The Organization of Turkic States was established in 2009 as an intergovernmental organization. Its primary objective is to foster comprehensive cooperation among Turkic States.
