Turkic states grow stronger as OTS solidarity surges—Azerbaijan's senior official
The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) continues to strengthen its internal cohesion through an expanding framework of multifaceted cooperation, senior Azerbaijani official Hikmet Hajiyev said at the Solidarity Forum of NGOs of OTS countries.
Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, noted that the organization is becoming more resilient as solidarity among its members intensifies, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
“There is multifaceted cooperation within the OTS. Numerous formats bring together governmental institutions across 34 areas of collaboration, yet until now there has been no platform uniting non-governmental organizations,” he stated.
“A foundation is now being laid for a format that includes NGOs and civil society, which bind together the Turkic world and serve as an essential component and driving force of people-to-people engagement,” Hajiyev added.
The forum’s official opening ceremony took place today at the Gulustan Palace in Baku. The event has drawn more than 500 civil society representatives from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Hungary, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
