The Bayraktar KIZILELMA PT-3, developed by Baykar, has recently achieved significant milestones in its testing phase. Notably, it has successfully completed the "Engine Run and Takeoff Roll Tests," demonstrating its enhanced aerodynamic design and supersonic flight capabilities.
In September 2024, the PT-3 prototype underwent its maiden flight test at the AKINCI Flight Training and Test Center in Tekirdağ's Çorlu district. This test encompassed system identification activities, all of which were successfully executed.
The PT-3 variant features a redesigned aerodynamic structure and is powered by the AI-322F engine equipped with an afterburner, enabling supersonic flight. This engine provides a flight endurance of five hours and allows for operations from short-deck aircraft carriers.
