Turkish company intends to test unmanned armoured vehicle in Azerbaijan
Turkish defence manufacturer HAVELSAN intends to test the "Barkan" unmanned military vehicle in Azerbaijan in the near future.
The statement came from Veysel Ataoglu, a member of the board of the company, and head of the unmanned vehicles project, in an interview with an APA correspondent in Istanbul.
He said the Azerbaijani and Turkish sides are negotiating on this issue.
Ataoglu also noted that HAVELSAN could start production in Azerbaijan next year.
“We have submitted our proposal to Azerbaijan, and work is underway on this issue. We do not make a difference between the Armed Forces of Turkey and Azerbaijan. We are ready to provide any support," he said.
Earlier, Azerbaijani authorities revealed their intention to purchase unmanned armoured vehicles from Türkiye, and relevant negotiations have been underway for some time.
