Turkish Defence Ministry congratulates Azerbaijani people on National Salvation Day
The Turkish Ministry of National Defence has congratulated the people of Azerbaijan on June 15 — the National Salvation Day of Azerbaijan.
"Once the flag is raised, it will never be lowered again. Two unwavering states of the great Turkic world, united by history, language, and national consciousness: Türkiye and Azerbaijan! With the understanding of 'One nation, two states,' we celebrate the National Salvation Day of our brotherly Azerbaijan, with whom we always stand shoulder to shoulder, and greet the Azerbaijani people with love and pride," Caliber.Az quotes the congratulatory message posted on the Ministry's X account as saying.
National Salvation Day is celebrated in Azerbaijan on June 15 to mark a pivotal moment in the country’s recent history. On this day in 1993, Azerbaijani National Leader Heydar Aliyev returned to power as the head of state amid political turmoil and civil unrest. His leadership brought stability, unity, and the beginning of significant reforms that helped restore order and strengthen Azerbaijan’s sovereignty. Since then, June 15 has been commemorated as a symbol of national revival and the resilience of the Azerbaijani people.
