Turkish delegation tours Azerbaijan military facilities PHOTO
A visit by a delegation led by Vice-Rector of the Turkish National Defence University, Lieutenant General Burhan Aktaş, is currently underway in Azerbaijan.
As part of the visit, the Turkish delegation met with Commander of the Azerbaijan Naval Forces, Rear Admiral Shahin Mammadov, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Defence Ministry.
During the meeting, the delegation were briefed on the history, activities, and combat readiness of the Naval Forces, as well as ongoing efforts to enhance professional personnel training. Questions of interest were also addressed.
Lieutenant General Aktaş signed the remembrance book during the visit.
The delegation also visited one of the Naval Forces military units, where they familiarized themselves with weapons systems and technical equipment used by naval special forces.
Subsequently, the Turkish delegation visited the Heydar Aliyev Military Institute of the National Defence University, where they were briefed on the educational process. They toured the campus and administrative facilities and met with Turkish cadets enrolled at the institution. The delegation inquired about their academic training, living conditions, and overall level of professional preparedness.
The visit continued at the War Games Centre of the Military Management Institute under the National Defense University, where the delegation was informed about the center's activities and ongoing Azerbaijan–Türkiye cooperation in military education.
At the conclusion of the visit, the sides exchanged gifts and took a group photograph.
