Turkish embassy in Baku offers condolences to Azerbaijan after avalanche incident
The Turkish embassy in Baku has expressed condolences to Azerbaijan following the tragic deaths of soldiers who were caught in an avalanche in Quba district.
"Today, we were deeply saddened to learn of the deaths of two Azerbaijani soldiers who were caught in an avalanche in Quba on March 19. We extend our condolences to the brotherly people of Azerbaijan and wish eternal peace to the souls of our brothers who perished in this tragic incident," Caliber.Az reports, citing the embassy’s statement on X.
Earlier, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Emergency Situations issued a joint statement announcing the discovery of the bodies of the soldiers caught in the avalanche.
The bodies of two Azerbaijani servicemen Ali Imanov and Rustam Hamidov, who were trapped in an avalanche during foggy weather while returning from their duty station in Gadabay district, have been found.
The Defence Ministry extends its heartfelt condolences to the families and relatives of the servicemen, who tragically lost their lives while carrying out their duties.
