Turkish envoy: Armenians mine border roads in Azerbaijan

15 September 2022 13:32

“Armenians continue to violate the ceasefire regime and mine the border roads on the territory of Azerbaijan.”

Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagchi said this at an event dedicated to the 104th anniversary of Baku's liberation from occupation, Report informs.

“Armenians are burying mines on the roads along which Azerbaijani soldiers are moving. In 2021 alone, 1,300 mines were found.

These mines were laid following the November 10, 2020 announcement.

The Armenians do not want to give up their claims to Karabakh, but, as Mr. President Ilham Aliyev said, the iron fist is still in place. Unfortunately, we have martyrs. May the Almighty rest their souls,” the ambassador added.

On September 15, 1918, Azerbaijani and Turkish soldiers liberated Baku from the Bolshevik-Dashnak junta and wrote a glorious page in the history of our country. Despite the proclamation of Azerbaijan's independence in May 1918, a part of the country's territory, Baku, and surrounding areas were under occupation.
