Turkish ex-envoy calls French Senate’s resolution "beyond logic, law"
Former Turkish ambassador to Azerbaijan, Head of the IMZA Social Development Support Public Union in Türkiye, Co-chairman of the Union of Elders of Türkiye and the Turkic world Hulusi Kilic has said that the resolution adopted by the French Senate is beyond logic and law.
Kilic made these remarks on November 18, while answering Trend’s questions.
He noted that the adoption of this resolution shows that the level of the French Senate has fallen to the level of the Armenian diaspora.
“We do not know what the French Senate expects from the Armenian diaspora. However, there are such expectations because this biased resolution which envisages interference in Azerbaijan’s internal affairs was adopted. It also creates obstacles to the ongoing peace talks. Four UN resolutions were also signed by France as one of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group. So, France contradicts itself,” Kilic said.
He noted that the resolution adopted by the French Senate is contrary to international law.
“This resolution was adopted to create tension in the South Caucasus. However, these efforts are futile. Türkiye and Azerbaijan will never recognise this resolution. If France loves Armenians so much, let it give Marseille to Armenia. Karabakh is the heart of Azerbaijan. The French resolution will be condemned by the Organisation of Turkic States. Once again, it becomes clear how important our unity is. France must investigate the realities and find out the truth,” Kilic said.
