Turkish FM expresses condolences to Azerbaijan over death of citizens
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has expressed condolences to Azerbaijan following the deaths of Azerbaijani citizens in a drone attack on cargo vessels in the Azov Sea.
Speaking at a press conference after the 10th trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Türkiye, Azerbaijan and Georgia, Fidan extended sympathy to the victims and their families, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
According to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, drone strikes on June 5 targeted the cargo ships Natra and Zircon in the Azov Sea. The ministry said that out of 25 Azerbaijani citizens on board, four were killed and four others were injured.
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry also clarified that the vessels are not owned by the Azerbaijani state.
