Turkish FM set to visit Croatia for Three Seas Initiative Summit

27 April 2026 15:35

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is set to visit Croatia on April 28 to attend the two-day 11th Three Seas Initiative (TSI) Summit in Dubrovnik, according to diplomatic sources.

At the Dubrovnik meeting, representing President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Fidan is expected to stress that connectivity has moved beyond traditional infrastructure and now forms a multidimensional system covering transport, energy, digital networks, finance, and governance, while recent geopolitical shifts further highlight its strategic relevance, Caliber.Az reports per Turkish media.

He is also anticipated to highlight the damaging impact of conflicts on the global economy and supply security, stressing the need to diversify supply chains and energy routes.

Fidan is further expected to point to flagship initiatives such as the Middle Corridor and the Development Road Project, describing their potential to strengthen global trade links, and to reiterate Türkiye’s view that connectivity corridors should not compete but rather function as complementary elements of an integrated system.

The summit is particularly notable as it marks Türkiye’s first participation as a “Strategic Partner,” following its inclusion in this status at the Warsaw summit held on April 28–29, 2025, the sources added.

The Three Seas Initiative brings together countries of Central and Eastern Europe and is aimed at developing infrastructure. Participants include EU member states and strategic partners such as Türkiye, the United States, Germany, Japan, and the European Commission.
