Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to visit Moscow for working talks
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will pay a working visit to Moscow from June 15 to 17 at the invitation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Ministry has announced.
The two sides are set to discuss a wide range of bilateral and international issues. Particular attention will be given to developments in the Middle East, prospects for resolving the Palestinian issue, the situation in the Black Sea region, and ensuring the safety of maritime navigation.
The talks will also focus on expanding cooperation in the South Caucasus, including the unblocking of transport links and communications and post-conflict reconstruction efforts. The ministry noted that Russia and Türkiye share an interest in a peaceful and predictable South Caucasus and view the “3+3” regional cooperation platform as one of the key mechanisms for engagement.
Lavrov and Fidan are also expected to discuss the situation in Syria, coordination on Libya, integration processes in Central Asia, and the development of Russian-Turkish trade and economic ties.
In addition, the agenda includes the construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant, the operation of the Blue Stream and TurkStream gas pipelines, and issues related to the safety of Russian tourists in Türkiye.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that the upcoming meeting is intended to reaffirm the high level of political dialogue between Moscow and Ankara and contribute to further cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
