Turkish police foil migrant smuggling within Operation Kalkan-22 VIDEO
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has announced the successful conclusion of Operation Kalkan-22, a nationwide crackdown on human smuggling networks.
Yerlikaya, sharing the news on social network X, revealed that the operation spanned 14 provinces across Türkiye, Caliber.Az reports.

The operation resulted in the apprehension of 40 individuals suspected of organizing migrant smuggling activities. Of those detained, 37 were formally arrested, while investigations continue for the remaining three.
Additionally, authorities identified 106 individuals suspected of being undocumented immigrants. These individuals were transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Immigration Services to initiate deportation proceedings.
Operation Kalkan-22 highlights the Turkish government's ongoing efforts to combat human smuggling and manage irregular migration. The success of this operation demonstrates their commitment to upholding national security and border integrity.
