06 August 2022 15:24
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that two days ago, he discussed the situation in the Karabakh region with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
“First of all, we condemn the attack, as a result of which one of our Azerbaijani brothers became a martyr,” President Erdogan told reporters after returning from Russia’s Sochi city, Report informs.
“Karabakh is a territory located within the internationally recognised borders of Azerbaijan. Of course, Azerbaijan does not want illegal armed formations to be deployed on its territory. Almost two years passed from the date of signing the tripartite agreement. It is extremely important for Armenia to fulfill its obligations as soon as possible," the Turkish leader added.
