Türkiye, Armenia working to open land border, says FM
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has said that the opening of Armenia's embassy in Türkiye is not on the agenda in the near future.
However, the countries are working on opening border crossings, A Haber TV channel quotes him as saying.
“In the short term, there may not be [an Armenian embassy opening], because we need to take other steps first. We have opened up our airspace to Armenia, cargo flights are operated, mutual air communication has started, Armenian air carriers can fly to third countries through our airspace. But in order to open land border crossings, together with political conditions, it is first necessary to prepare the roads, to rebuild the bridge. And we already have agreements on the construction of the bridge,” he said.
