Türkiye confirms hitting 32 targets in anti-terror operation
The Turkish Armed Forces have conducted an air operation against terrorist targets in northern Iraq and Syria.
The operation was carried out in accordance with the right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter, Caliber.Az reports per the Turkish Ministry of National Defence.
"A total of 32 terrorist targets were successfully destroyed during the air operation. The aim was to eliminate terrorist attacks, and the operation continues, with many terrorists already neutralised," the Ministry said.
Earlier, Turkish Defence Minister Yaşar Güler blamed the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) for a recent terrorist attack near the TUSAŞ building in Ankara, which claimed five lives and left 22 others injured.
"We are punishing them, but they do not understand. As I have always stated, we will continue the fight until the last terrorist is eliminated. We will make them suffer for what they have done, and the world will witness it," Güler said.
The Turkish army is currently striking PKK targets in the centre of Ayn al-Arab, Syria, in response to a terrorist attack on the aerospace company (TUSAŞ) in Ankara.
