Türkiye considers rights, interests of Azerbaijanis in normalising ties with Armenia, says minister
Military cooperation between Türkiye and Azerbaijan is not of an aggressive nature.
Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar made the relevant remarks during his official visit to Baku on October, APA reports.
He noted that both states respect the rights and laws of each.
“We want a peaceful atmosphere to reign in the region. After the recent war, the hand of peace was extended to Armenia. We expect a positive response to this proposal. This is an important issue for peace and, accordingly, prosperity in the entire Caucasus,” he said.
The Minister added that the negotiations between Türkiye and Armenia are fully based on the rights and interests of the Azerbaijani people.
Akar emphasized that cooperation between Türkiye and Azerbaijan does not pose a threat to third parties:
“The decisions of President Erdogan and Mr Aliyev are final. We are brothers, we are one, we are together, and this will always be so.
