Türkiye's ASELSAN presents cutting-edge anti-aircraft system PHOTO
Images of a novel Anti-Aircraft Missile and Cannon Complex developed by Turkish defence company ASELSAN on the ANADOLU ISUZU Seyit 8×8 chassis have appeared on social networking platforms.
The missiles are the ground version of the GOKDOGAN missile for engaging targets beyond the line of sight (BVRAAM) developed by the Turkish Defence Industries Research and Development Institute (TÜBİTAK-SAGE), Caliber.Az reports, citing the Twitter page of the Turkish defence portal SavunmaSanayiST.com.
The complex is also equipped with a 35 mm GOKER multi-purpose weapon system, which has projectiles with programmable detonation effective against drones at short distances.
The air defence system includes an ASELSAN-developed AKR fire control radar with a range of 80 kilometres. Four AESA radars are mounted around the area to detect targets.
In addition, the cannon complex has a "self-contained" structure, like the HISAR-A+. In other words, it can engage on its own, without any additional elements. It is expected to have a maximum range of 30-40 kilometres against air targets.
It is noteworthy that this system has similarities with the Russian "Pantsir" complex. However, it can already be said that the Turkish NHS will be more efficient thanks to its radar systems and the GOKDOGAN missile.
