Türkiye turns Navy ships into hospitals for earthquake survivors
The Turkish Navy landing ship TCG Bayraktar, anchored off the coast of the southern Hatay province, has been turned into a floating hospital for earthquake survivors (earthquakes measuring 7.7 and 7.6) with the epicentre in Kahramanmarash.
Along with TCG Bayraktar, another landing ship TCG Sancaktar has been also used as a floating hospital since February 10, according to Anadolu Agency.
Both ships rapidly sailed towards the shores of Hatay with a cargo of humanitarian aid, after which they were turned into hospitals.
All conditions, including operating rooms, intensive care units, and ambulance services, have been created on board to help 560 people.
Doctors at TCG Bayraktar rendered assistance to 306 earthquake survivors over the last 24 hours.
