Demand for Russia-Armenia relations endures, MFA says
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said there remains strong public demand in Armenia for closer ties with Russia and continued participation in Eurasian integration frameworks, arguing that such cooperation delivers tangible benefits.
Speaking as cited by RIA Novosti, Zakharova said engagement within these structures provides Armenia with “real and tangible advantages,” contrasting them with what she described as “empty promises.”
“There is an obvious broad demand in Armenian society for the progressive development of Russian-Armenian relations and for Armenia’s continued presence in Eurasian integration structures, which bring real, tangible benefits,” she said.
Zakharova added that support for bilateral relations between Russia and Armenia is grounded in a clear understanding of their practical value.
According to her, this public demand is not driven by manipulation or political pledges, but instead reflects the concrete outcomes of cooperation between the two countries.
“People see these results, evaluate them and support the further development of relations,” Zakharova said.
