Turkmen Women's Union: Conference in Azerbaijan helps to find ways for gender equality

Chairperson of the Central Council of the Women's Union of Turkmenistan Akjemal Durdyeva has said that the international conference on women empowerment, organised in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku, helps to find ways to ensure gender equality worldwide.

Durdyeva made these remarks at the conference, according to Report.

She noted that the main strategy of the Women's Union of Turkmenistan is to implement the gender equality policy.

“The ongoing incidences of violence against women, unequal access to economic resources, all this hinders the achievement of goals,” she said.

Durdyeva also noted that countries will achieve significant socio-economic development by protecting women's rights.
