Uzbekistan kicks off "Unity-2025" regional military exercise

The opening ceremony of the "Unity-2025" (Birlik-2025) joint regional military exercise took place on October 14 in Uzbekistan’s Samarkand region.

The exercise brings together servicemen from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, Caliber.Az reports via Azerbaijan's Defence Ministry.

The event began with the playing of the national anthems of the participating countries. Speakers at the ceremony highlighted the significance of such joint exercises for fostering cooperation, sharing expertise, and strengthening regional ties, wishing the participants success throughout the drills.

Following the official proceedings, a cultural programme was presented, featuring performances of national songs from Uzbekistan and the other participating nations.

The ceremony concluded with a ceremonial march past by the servicemen in front of the grandstand.
