The members of the 67th General Assembly are in Azerbaijan to take part in an international conference, bringing together judges and legal experts from around the world to discuss judicial cooperation and the rule of law.
An international conference titled “Relations Between the Judiciary and the Other Two Branches of Government”, dedicated to the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty”, is taking place in Baku as part of the 67th General Assembly of the International Association of Judges (IAJ).
Organised through cooperation between the IAJ and the Association of Judges of Azerbaijan, the event brings together high-ranking judicial figures, including Chairman of the Association of Judges of Azerbaijan Ramiz Rzayev, Supreme Court Chairman Inam Karimov, and Judge of the European Court of Human Rights Latif Huseynov.
The IAJ, of which the Union of Judges of Azerbaijan has been a member since 2009, remains a leading advocate for human rights and judicial independence worldwide. The assembly will also see elections to the organisation’s governing bodies and the appointment of a new chairperson.
