Turkmenistan to hold military-tactical exercises

Turkmenistan will conduct military-tactical exercises in the near future.

Secretary of the Security Council, Minister of Defence Begench Gundogdyev reported on the preparations for them at a meeting of the State Security Council on April 14, Turkmenportal reports, citing the news program Watan of the Turkmen television.

After listening to the report, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the commitment of Turkmenistan to its exclusively defensive Military Doctrine.

“It is necessary to properly prepare for the upcoming exercises,” the head of state said, emphasizing the importance of organizing the activities of all structures of the National Army, taking into account the requirements of the time.

“At the same time, first of all, attention should be paid to further study and implementation of advanced world experience in the military sphere,” Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised.

In October last year, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov checked the combat readiness of the National Army by visiting the joint military field exercises of the Armed Forces and other military branches, which took place in the Marine Training Center located on the territory of the Turkmenbashy etrap.
