TürkPA engages CIS IPA on Kyrgyzstan snap elections PHOTO
A delegation from the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking States (TürkPA), led by Deputy Secretary-General Talgat Aduov and Commission Secretary Aynura Abutalybova, held a meeting with representatives of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly (IPA CIS) as part of their short-term observation of the snap parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan.
Ivan Mushket, Deputy Secretary of the IPA CIS Secretariat and Director of the International Institute for Monitoring Democratic Development, briefed the delegation on the work of the observer mission, noting that the Kyrgyz Central Election Commission accredited more than 70 observers, TürkPA told Report.
The discussion focused on electoral procedures, international standards, and the standardisation of observation criteria. Mushket also invited TürkPA to participate in an international conference on electoral trust, scheduled for February 19–20, 2026, at the IPA CIS headquarters.
Aduov highlighted the activities of the TürkPA observer mission and initiatives to strengthen interparliamentary cooperation, including the “TürkPA+” format.
He emphasised that the assembly is open to new areas of collaboration and considers the exploration of innovative forms of interparliamentary cooperation a priority.
